Setting up a hosted email address on your domain is a great way to add professionalism and brand recognition to your domain. At Porkbun, we make it easy! Here's how to set that up.
Log in. This should take you to the Domain Management screen. If you're already logged in, click on ACCOUNT in the top right, and select Domain Management.
2
Locate the domain you wish to set up an email hosting address on. To the right of the domain is a row of icons. Click on the envelope icon under the "EMAIL" column.
You'll be directed to the "Email Hosting and Forwarding" page, where you can purchase new email addresses, set up existing hosting/forwarding addresses, and more.
3
All newly registered domains at Porkbun come with a 15-day free trial of the email hosting service. To configure the email address for your free trial, scroll down to the "Pending Setup" section of the page, then click on the "Configure" button to the right of your listed free trial.
Alternatively, if you have already purchased a hosted email inbox, you can select the "Configure" button next to "Standard Email" instead.
4
After clicking the "Configure" button, a menu will appear that prompts you to create your new hosted email address. Enter the email address you want to set up on your domain, and create a password. After doing so, click on the "Create Email Address" button.
Note
The password you set up for your hosted email address is technically different than the one you use to log in to your Porkbun account itself. If you ever forget the password for a hosted email address, you can follow this guide to reset it.
5
That's it! The page will refresh, and you'll see a new section labeled "Current Accounts" that contains your hosted email address. From this section, you can open your inbox using the "webmail" button. You can also renew the email address manually, change the password for the email address, or delete it.
Tip
There are a few different ways to access your new email address, including adding it to a different email client of your choice. Check out this guide for more information on logging in via our Webmail client, or this guide for more information on using a different email client.
Looking to configure additional hosted email addresses on your domain? We'll show you how!
Tip
You can also create up to 20 free email forwarding addresses on your domain, which work a little differently than hosted emails. Check out this guide for more information on choosing between the different email services.
1
Navigate to the "Email Hosting and Forwarding" page for your domain. You can find this by going to your "Domain Management" page, then locating your domain and clicking on the envelope icon under the "EMAIL" column, to the right of the domain name.
2
In the "Porkbun Email Hosting" section towards the top of the page, click on the "Add Hosted Email Account" button. Each hosted email address you configure and purchase is billed separately at $24 per year.
3
You'll be redirected to your cart, where you can see the domain and the email address you're purchasing. You can add multiple email addresses in one purchase if you desire. When you're ready, click on the "Continue to Billing" button and proceed through checkout.
That's it! Once you've purchased the new email address, you can return to the same "Email Hosting and Forwarding" page on your domain to configure it. Check out the first section of this guide for more information on how to configure the email address.
You can access your new email address in a few different ways! Check out our guide on how to log in to Webmail for info on using the default email client we provide.
