What Happens to Domains & Accounts When Someone Passes Away?
If you need to access a domain or account belonging to someone who has passed away, you must be the legal Estate Administrator or a verified next of kin. To proceed, you’ll need to submit a request to Porkbun Support along with the two following required documents:

- Legal Proof of Estate Administration – Documentation verifying the requestor’s authority over the deceased’s estate.

- Death Certificate Copy – An official copy of the deceased’s death certificate.
Please send the documents to support@porkbun.com along with details on the account including the email address, username, and any domains. If you do not have all of the information, provide what details that you do have so that we can assist.
Once you have submitted the required documents, you will receive a response from our team by email with links to complete a questionnaire and to perform an ID Verification in order to process your request. When these tasks have been completed, simply reply to the email message to let us know and our team will get started verifying your request. You can expect to hear back in approximately 72 hours.
