How to toggle auto-renew
When you register a domain at Porkbun, the automatic renewal setting will be enabled by default. If you want to turn that off so your domain doesn't renew automatically, this guide will show you how!
Toggling the auto-renew setting

Log in. You should arrive at the Domain Management screen. If you're already logged in, click on ACCOUNT in the top-right corner and select Domain Management.

Locate the domain you want to disable automatic renewal for. Click the refresh/recycle icon to the right of the domain under the "Renew" column, then click on "Disable Auto Renew".
You may see a pop-up window asking you to confirm your choice, and letting you know that you're only disabling auto-renew for the domain name itself. Click "OK" to confirm.

That's it! The renewal icon next to your domain will turn white, indicating the automatic renewal is disabled.
If you change your mind in the future, you can always come back to the same spot and click on "Enable Auto Renew" to turn that back on.
Toggling auto-renew for multiple domains at once
If you have multiple domains you want to turn auto-renew on/off for, we have a handy tool for that! Here's how it's done.

Log in. You should arrive at the Domain Management screen. If you're already logged in, click on ACCOUNT in the top-right corner and select Domain Management.

Scroll down to your list of domains. To the left of each domain is a checkbox. Check the box for every domain for which you intend to turn auto-renew on or off.

In the upper-right corner of the list of domains, click on "Bulk Actions" and then choose "General Bulk Options" from the dropdown menu.

On the "Bulk Domain Management" page, double check the list of domains you selected to make sure everything looks right. You can also add/remove domains from the list here.
Once you're ready, click on either the "Auto Renew On" or "Auto Renew Off" button depending on what you're looking to do with the domains.
A confirmation window will appear. Click "OK" to confirm the change.

After a moment the page will refresh, and at the top you'll see a notice confirming that your change has been queued. Our system will work on this in the background, and you'll get an email sent to your account's primary email address as soon as the process is complete.
Note
The time it takes for this process to complete depends on how many domains you're adjusting. If you don't see any confirmation email show up after an hour or two, you can check the auto-renew setting for the domains on your Domain Management page or contact support for assistance.
Disable auto-renew for all new domains
By default, newly registered domains will have automatic renewal enabled. If you want to disable that for all new domains that you register on Porkbun, you can do so from your account's settings page. Here's how:

Log in to your Porkbun account. Click on "ACCOUNT" in the upper-right corner, then choose "Settings / Billing" from the dropdown menu.

On the Settings page, scroll down until you find the section titled "Domain Renewal Settings". Under the "New Registrations Default" option, toggle the setting off if you want to disable auto-renew for all new domains.
That's it! Now when you register new domains, you'll see that the automatic renewal setting is disabled already.
Note
Other paid services such as email hosting and web hosting packages will attempt to automatically renew so long as they are active. To ensure you aren't charged for those services, cancel the Porkbun hosting plan tied to the domain, and/or any email addresses you don't want to renew.
