How to Set Up Email Forwarding Service

Porkbun offers two ways to make a custom email address for your domain: email forwards and hosted email. Our email forwarding service is free, but your replies will show as having been sent from your personal email address.

⚠️️ Please note:

Wildcard or catchall forwards are not supported.

If you also want to send replies from your custom email address, you'll need to set up a hosted email account to create an email address inbox using your domain.

Setting Up Email Forwarding Service

1

Log in to your Porkbun account and you will arrive at the Domain Management screen. If you're already logged in, click on ACCOUNT in the top-right corner and select "Domain Management" from the list.

2
Open up your Porkbun email settings from the Domain Management page by clicking on the envelope icon next to the domain for which you would like to set up the email forwarding service.

3
On the Email Hosting and Forwarding page, find Option 2: Email Forwarding on the right side.

There, specify the name of your email address (what shows to the left of the "@"). Depending on the purpose of the email address, you may consider using your name, an employee’s name, or something like info, help, reservations, etc.

In the "Deliver it to:" box, enter the existing email account you’d like your custom address to forward to, and click the blue "Create Email Forward" button." Right below that field, you'll see your new email address entered into the "Current Forwards" section.

⚠️️ Hint

You can configure one email forwarding address to send to multiple other emails, like in the screenshot above.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully set up your email forwarding service and are now the owner of one very unique email address automatically forwarded to your existing account. You can repeat this process to create up to 20 active email forwards per domain.

⚠️️ Warning

If you wish to send a test email to the forward you created, make sure it is from an address different from the one you are forwarding to. This will prevent a "feedback loop" effect.
