How to fix your Porkbun hosting DNS

Editing DNS is a tricky business. It’s all too easy to accidentally remove or corrupt important DNS records by accident. If you’ve purchased a web hosting plan from Porkbun, such as the Articulation Site Builder or Cloud WordPress, altering DNS records related to hosting could mean that your website drops off the Internet. Fortunately, we make it easy to fix!

The easiest way to do this is by using our Fix DNS feature.

1
First, make sure that you didn’t recently switch to another provider's nameservers, as this will break your domain's connection to web hosting from Porkbun. If you did recently assign third-party nameservers and it broke your web hosting, switch back to our nameservers. If you haven’t made such a change, move on to step 2.
2
Log in. You should arrive at the Domain Management screen. If you're already logged in, click on ACCOUNT in the top-right corner and select Domain Management.

3
Locate the domain you want to fix the hosting DNS records for. To the right of the domain is a block of icons. Click the green icon under the "WEBSITE" column to go to your web hosting page. In this example, we have Cloud WordPress hosting on the domain.

4
On the web hosting page for your domain, scroll all the way to the bottom. You'll see a section labelled "Fix DNS Records". Within that section, click on the "Fix DNS" button, then click the "OK" button on the window that pops up to confirm the change.

That's it! After this change is successfully submitted, wait a few minutes and then check to see if your website is resolving properly again. If things still aren't working, feel free to reach out to our support team for further assistance.
