How to fix your Porkbun email MX records

Editing DNS is a tricky business. It’s all too easy to accidentally remove or corrupt important DNS records by accident. If you’ve purchased an email hosting plan from Porkbun, altering MX records related to email could result in issues with sending and receiving. Fortunately, we make it easy to fix!

The easiest way to do this is by using our Fix DNS feature.

1
First, make sure that you didn’t recently switch to another company’s nameservers, as this will break Porkbun Email. If you did recently assign third-party nameservers, please follow our instructions for how to use Porkbun email when your DNS is hosted elsewhere instead. If you haven’t made such a change, move on to step 2.
2
Log in. You should arrive at the Domain Management screen. If you're already logged in, click on ACCOUNT in the top-right corner and select Domain Management.

2
Locate the domain you want to reset the MX records for. To the right of the domain is a row of icons. Click the envelope icon under 'Email' to go to your email hosting/forwarding page.

3
On the Email Hosting and Forwarding page, scroll all the way down to the bottom where you will see a section that has a 'Fix DNS' button. Select that "Fix DNS" button and then the "OK" button on the browser window that pops up. This will configure the domain with our MX and SPF records.

4
That's it! Wait a couple of minutes and see if the issue with sending and receiving email resolves. If it doesn't, feel free to reach out to support@porkbun.com and our support team can investigate further.
