Why is my hosted email address no longer working in Gmail?
Long story short
As of January 2026, Gmail has phased out their support for fetching incoming emails via POP3 on the web version of Gmail (gmail.com). That means that your hosted email address will still be able to send outgoing emails from Gmail's web client, but incoming emails will no longer show up in Gmail. Please keep in mind this is only for the web/desktop version of Gmail. Any email addresses you've added to the Gmail app on your phone or tablet will continue to work normally.
What should I do?
Rest assured that your email address itself is still working normally. You have a couple of options:
- You can still manage your email address on our default Webmail client (webmail.porkbun.com). For more information on logging in and using our Webmail client, feel free to check out this guide.
- You can choose a different email client to add your hosted email address to on your computer. We have plenty of guides for different providers. We recommend Mozilla Thunderbird as a free and user-friendly email client.
I'm running into errors when trying to add my hosted email address to another client!
There are a few reasons this might be happening. The first thing to check is to make sure you're using the right password for your email address. To check if you have the right password, go to webmail.porkbun.com and try to log in with the email address and password. If you're unable to log in, try changing your email's password by following this guide.
If you have the right password and you still run into errors, the next step is to make sure you're using the correct server information from Porkbun. You can check out this guide to see the server info you should be inputting on the new email client.
